'Howl'

There is no final concept for this animation it is only made as an introduction to a short film.

By creating an intro piece, I was able to work with a short way of storytelling, with very little to reveal. The way I achieved this was also by introducing snipets of the setting in the scene and atmosphere revealing the location and the music with added sound effects, like the ‘howling’ to create contrasts of celebration and fear.

'Glow'

This short animation is a scene I made for a group animation project. It is a short footage from the whole three minutes piece and I was able to contribute a small part to the story. It is a mixture of digital and collage work.

The overall idea for this scene is to show the star interacting and ‘travelling’ through different spaces. Personifying the star in a gentle, curious and glowing nature helps create a calm scene and also reveals it as the protagonist of the overall film, rather than fully focusing on the woman in the center of the screen.

'Longing'

Animating with the rotoscoping technique was a really fun exploration. I filmed myself in the beginning footage, uploaded the frames to Photoshop and from there drew out outlines from the different frames to create the motions.

'A Walk In The Storm'

The concept of this animation was something I have been wanting to explore for a while now, I’d like to make more animations like this soon again. What attracted me about this style of work is how simple it is as well as emphasing on the importance of soundscaping.

'Lights Out'

An animation made mainly with collaging techniques. From the light switch and the hand, the fun part was also having to scavenge for the ‘right’ images that can fit with this particular style of work. The background and the lighting effect are digitally drawn and the soundscaping helps add an eerie feeling which contradicts the ‘lullaby’ song.

'Nine Lives'

My first ever stop-motion! A collaboration made with my fellow classmates. We had agreed on the storyboard and everyone had a role in creating different parts of the ‘props’. This was especially fun to make.

'Where Am I?'

A lost kitty caught in an endless loop was initially the idea I wanted to explore, instead I focused primarily on the ‘squash and stretch’ concept that is typically used in traditional animations.
